SOY'S NEED FOR TRACE ELEMENTS

Soybeans are more demanding on the introduction of trace elements than most field crops, and therefore foliar application of trace element complexes is extremely necessary. Soybeans are most sensitive to the deficiency of cobalt and molybdenum.  

- Cobalt is necessary for legume plants, as it participates in the process of fixing atmospheric nitrogen, is a part of cobalomin (vitamin B12), which is synthesized by bacteria in the nodules of legume plants, as well as in the enzymes of nitrogen-fixing organisms involved in the synthesis of methionine, DNA and bacterial cell division. Cobalt also affects the functioning of the photosynthetic apparatus and protein synthesis.  

- Having the biological ability to fix atmospheric nitrogen, soybeans have an urgent need for molybdenum, which improves nitrogen metabolism in plants, participates in protein formation, nitrogen fixation, reduction of nitrate nitrogen in plants, redox processes, synthesis of chlorophyll and vitamins.

With its deficiency, the possibility of nitrogen fixation is sharply reduced and sometimes completely eliminated, a large amount of nitrates accumulates in the tissues and the normal metabolism of plants is disrupted. This leads to a decrease in yield both quantitatively and qualitatively.
